Unified App Access
Patients often rely on multiple tools to manage their health—lab results, medication reminders, care team messaging—but switching between devices or apps can be confusing and disruptive. With Multi-App Support, we’re simplifying that experience.
Now, patients can access PatientConnect alongside up to two pre-approved third-party health apps on a single, secure device. Each tablet is configured to meet the needs of your care program, with no downloads or browsing allowed. This unified experience reduces friction, improves engagement, and helps patients stay focused on what matters most—their health.

You will see two new navigation buttons on the bottom of your PatientConnect screen: Home (square) and Back (arrow.) Tap Home to view all available applications.

Switching between apps is seamless and intuitive.
Consistent Care Workflows
Whether patients are using PatientConnect or another approved app, they’ll never miss a call or alert. Incoming calls appear as full-screen notifications when PatientConnect is active or the tablet is asleep, and as pop-ups when using other apps.
To ensure accuracy and consistency across care workflows, vital sign readings are only recorded when PatientConnect is open and active in the foreground. This protection reduces missed readings and improves over quality of the care experience.

The PatientConnect incoming call pop-up reliably delivers alerts to patients regardless of the application in use and now even when the tablet is asleep.
Streamlined Updates & Support
Multi-App tablets are designed for simplicity behind the scenes. Software updates for both PatientConnect and approved third-party apps (like MyChart or Vitls) are delivered automatically—whether the tablet is connected via built-in cellular or Wi-Fi.
With this update, tablets now receive the latest PatientConnect software in a single, streamlined push, eliminating the previous two-step process. Updates install automatically—reducing the number of unlocked devices in the field and minimizing the need for manual support intervention.
To support flexible connectivity, patients can now configure Wi-Fi settings directly within the PatientConnect Mobile App, ensuring uninterrupted access to care and seamless updates, even in environments where cellular service may vary.

With PatientConnect, patients now have the convenience of setting up their Wi-Fi seamlessly within the app—making it easier than ever to stay connected to care.
Secure & Configurable Setup
Security remains central to the PatientConnect experience. Multi-App tablets are locked down to prevent downloads, browsing, or unauthorized app use—ensuring patient data stays protected and the device remains focused on care.
You can upgrade mid-contract or configure Multi-App support during new orders. Each tablet is configured during the ordering process in ClinicianConnect to meet your program’s needs. Up to two pre-approved third-party apps can be selected in addition to PatientConnect. If additional apps are needed, your Client Success Manager can guide you through the review and approval process.
