We are excited to welcome the newest member of our leadership team, Florence Kariuki, RN, BSN, MHA, FHELA. As Chief Clinical Officer, Florence is leading our clinical innovation and reimbursement strategies.
Prior to joining HRS, Florence served in various leadership roles at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, focused on innovation of Alternative Payment Programs, Value-Based Programming (PCMH, ACO, EOC), Population Health Management, Social Determinants of Health, Palliative Care, and Total Cost of Care Management strategies. She also has held Critical Care and Maternal/Child patient care positions at the Hackensack Meridian Health System.
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
Jarrett Bauer is the CEO and Co-Founder of Health Recovery Solutions (HRS).
Jarrett founded HRS in 2012 while pursuing his MBA in Healthcare Management at The Johns Hopkins University. The company’s clinical results have garnered national attention, and Jarrett has been recognized as a business leader by CNN, Fox News, the WSJ, and TIME.
Jarrett has been recognized nationally as a leader and changemaker influencing innovation in healthcare. In 2016, Jarrett was named to the Annual Forbes 30 Under 30 List, as an entrepreneur reinventing health care.
Jarrett holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Villanova University and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Management from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
Outside of work, Jarrett enjoys spending time with his brother and having fun with the HRS team.
Chief Clinical Officer
As CCO, Florence leads the company’s clinical innovation and reimbursement strategies, responsible for assisting in the development and execution of new product lines, while ensuring clinical quality is maintained and accelerated as the company scales.
Prior to joining the HRS team, Florence served in various leadership roles at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, focused on innovation of Alternative Payment Programs, Value-Based Programming (PCMH, ACO, EOC), Population Health Management, Social Determinants of Health, Palliative Care, and Total Cost of Care Management strategies. Florence holds a Bachelor’s in Nursing from William Paterson University, magna cum laude, and a Masters in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Seton Hall University, summa cum laude.
Outside of work, you can find Florence cooking, doing crafts, or running around after her 4 amazing kids, who keep her quite occupied with little time to do anything else!
Chief Revenue Officer
As CRO, Royce leads the company’s go-to-market strategy and operations, with responsibility over sales, marketing, revenue operations, business development, and partnerships.
Prior to joining the HRS team, Royce served as SVP of Growth for CipherHealth. Over his 7 year tenure with the company, Royce was instrumental in designing the company’s go-to-market strategy. As one of Cipher's first ten employees, he helped grow the business to nearly 200 employees and to be the market leader in Patient Engagement. Beyond his direct work with HRS, Royce is an investor and advisor to several digital health companies.
Royce holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in International Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, both from Bryant University.
Outside of work, Royce enjoys being with his family and friends, traveling the world, and constantly learning about leadership.
Chief Product Officer
As CPO, Jess leads the company’s product strategy, design, and research, with responsibility over product management, product operations, support, logistics, and UI/UX.
Prior to joining the HRS team, Jess was Head of Product at GetWellNetwork, a leading digital patient engagement company. At GetWellNetwork, Jess sat at the helm of product for 2+ years, helping to manage the strategy behind the acquisition and integration of HealthLoop. Earlier in her career, Jess led product teams at HealthLoop and Cielo MedSolutions.
Jess's longest tenure was at Advisory Board, a best practices firm that uses a combination of research, technology, and consulting to improve the performance of healthcare organizations. As a critical part of Advisory Board’s technology division, Jess wore many hats across implementation, delivery, and product management.
Jess is a subject matter expert in Value-Based Care models, Population Health, ACO’s, quality measurement reporting, RPM programs, and patient engagement.
Jess holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, magna cum laude, from Eastern Michigan University.
Outside of work, Jess enjoys cheering on the Princeton University Field Hockey team where her wife is the head coach, hanging with her family and dogs, and enjoying game nights with friends and family.
Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder
As COO and Co-Founder, Rohan has responsibility over product, logistics, client success, and finance.
Rohan’s prior experience includes technology platform implementation and delivery roles with JP Morgan and Alas Consulting. He also served as a Transmission and Distribution Engineer at CG Power. Rohan’s core skills include technical problem solving, operationalizing, creating efficiencies within existing operations, and product and financial management.
Rohan holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, both from Villanova University.
Outside of work, Rohan enjoys playing golf, being with his family and friends, going to the beach, angel investing, and advising other start-ups.
Chief Technology Officer
As CTO, Sam is responsible for the company’s technology infrastructure, including deployment, engineering, systems management, data science, security, and quality. He sets the technical vision for the company.
Prior to joining the HRS team, Sam served as CIO/CTO at AMC Health where he was responsible for many initiatives that centered around advancing the company’s technology. Earlier in his career, he was the Director of Technology at UnitedHealth Group and Senior Manager IT and Product Development at Bayer.
Sam is a product and solution-oriented change agent and IT SME who can reduce operational costs and increase system performance and security.
Sam holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering with a focus in Computer Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending quality time with his family and close friends.
Chief Financial Officer
As CFO, Jason is responsible for the company’s finance functions like strategic planning, corporate development, capital raising, accounting, and investor relations, as well as corporate functions like human resources, and legal. Since joining HRS, Jason has successfully led the company through both its Series B & C funding rounds and has steered virtually all aspects of the company's growth phases.
Prior to joining the HRS team, Jason worked at Macquarie, a global investment bank, where he worked on domestic and cross-border debt and equity deal structuring, corporate funding and capital initiatives, and regulatory and compliance obligations. Jason started his career as a tax attorney at Deloitte working in tax consulting and M&A groups across financial service, healthcare, technology, and media industries.
Jason holds a JD from Seton Hall University School of Law and a Bachelor’s in Finance from Villanova University. He is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
Outside of work, Jason enjoys cooking, skiing, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family and dog.
Chief Information Security Officer
As CISO, Jay is responsible for the company’s information security and IT governance.
Prior to joining the HRS team, Jay served as the CISO at Temple University where he was responsible for all aspects of information security. He also served at AMC Health where he was the EVP Security, Privacy, IT, and Commercial Patient Services. Earlier in his career, Jay held positions at Phreesia, American Water, and Vanguard. He is a SME in Compliance, HITRUST, Payment Card Industry (PCI), Cloud Security, IoT, Information Security and IT Governance, Distributed Team Management, as well as FDA medical device standards.
Jay holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Susquehanna University.
