Greg Battles COVID-19 from the Comfort of Home

I was a little intimidated by that because I’m a little technologically challenged, I just don’t like mechanical things. But it was so simple!

Meet Greg

Greg B., a 63-year-old Senior Pastor from Maplewood, Minnesota had taken every precaution to avoid contracting COVID-19, including performing online church services.

However, in October 2020, Greg tested positive for COVID-19. After several days, Greg began to experience severe difficulty breathing and was admitted to Allina Health and offered enrollment in their Hospital Home Care Program.

Allina Health launched the Hospital Home Care Program in May 2020, offering patients the option to recover from COVID-19—among other conditions—at home. To monitor his recovery and daily health status, Allina supplied Greg with a tablet and pulse oximeter to monitor his symptoms.

With telehealth in his home, Greg’s care team was able to monitor Greg’s vitals 24/7 and perform daily virtual visits to provide personalized care while reducing the risk of exposure.
